Chapter Eight – Celene

I didn’t know how long I sat there in the dark warehouse, after Jett left. I was a bit… puzzled at myself with how easily he’d played me. For he surely did. I mean, the back and forth we had was kind of fun, but that alone shouldn’t have made my body crave his touch so much.

Maybe I was still reeling from that make-out session with Dex. Maybe not. Who could say? Right now, I was so very perplexed at all of this.

I hated them because they were Jamesons, because I knew in my heart of hearts the Jamesons had to be at least aware of what happened to my family, even if they weren’t the culprits. You didn’t kill an entire family off, especially a family of the Black Hand, without others knowing. It just didn’t happen. Even if they were innocent of the crime, they still stood aside and let it happen, and that was not something I could forgive. Not for my parents, and especially not for my brother.

I sighed to myself. How different things would be if my family was alive, if my brother was alive. My life would’ve been so different, unrecognizable, and it would’ve been amazing.

But I had to deal with the hand life dealt me, and so here I was.

I knew I had my father’s switchblade still in my hair. When I was… ahem, jumped at my house, I didn’t have time to get it out and use it. Slade had literally been waiting for me, having picked the lock on my front door before Dex dropped me off. What would he have done, I wondered, if Dex had come inside with me?

None of that mattered now, because even though I’d given the fucker as much as I could, he had the element of surprise and before I knew it, his strong arm had been wrapped around my neck, blocking the flow of blood to my brain long enough for me to pass out.

Ugh. Speaking of which, I had a blistering headache. Now that Jett wasn’t here distracting me, it was on the forefront of my brain. Literally.

I could try to get the switchblade out of my hair, or I could wait and see what happened. Maybe Jett wouldn’t be gone for too long. Maybe he’d be back soon and decide to let me go. I could save the switchblade for then, teach him a thing or two about torture.

Because giving me an orgasm? Not the kind of torture I think he had in mind when he planned this all out.

With a sigh, I decided to close my eyes, try to fight the headache, and wait. What else did I have to do today? Or tonight? Or… whatever the fuck time it was. Hard to tell, since I seemed to be stuck in some abandoned warehouse. Creepy.
